My services are all about getting you back to feeling like you are living your life fully. Getting you to where you want to be, because you are able to deal with the obstacles that might be getting in the way. Oh, and learning from it, so you also grow in the process.
Life is for living. There are lots of ways we can do this. One way is to be more resilient: reduce the time we are all-consumed with adversity or a problem we are facing so that we may live more, stress less, achieve more and thrive. I’m talking about living a flourishing life where we have made the most of our time, in whatever way we wish.
Resilience is being able to stay flexible in our thinking and behaviours when we are under pressure or facing adversity, so that we find a way ahead, quickly. We limit the time we spend dealing with adversity (stressed), but we also learn from what we experienced.
In simple terms, resilience is about being able to deal with or believe we have the capacity to deal with problems so they don’t get stuck on repeat in our head.
When we are resilient, we are able to react less or differently to what is getting in our way, get out of our head, and get back to doing whatever we want to achieve, armed with the learnings from our setback. Does this sound like something you’d benefit from?
Depending on the level of help you need, I have several options for you.
Fundamentals of Resilience (coming soon)
To enable you FEEL resilience and grow AWARENESS of the times you have been resilient, when you have felt your resilience leave you, or where you are aware of a resilience gap.
A FREE course on the basics of resilience, to build your awareness of what resilience is. We cannot grow something if we have not felt it. Or put in another way, we can only grow something we have felt.
So, this mini-course is about giving you information and examples so that you may connect with how resilience feels in your body, as well as being aware of situations when you might already be resilient and when you are not.
Why? If you have felt it and are aware of the times you have been resilient, you will become much more open to the idea that you can grow it. This is an important starting point, even if you think you know exactly what resilience is.
This might be all you need to get you started on your resilience-building journey! If you think you need more in-depth information and some self-coaching methods and strategies, read on to the Essentials of Resilience below.

What does a coaching session look like?
Resilience is sometimes perceived as an immunity to problems, obstacles and difficulties. In some ways, this could be great, but in some ways it’s not - we are human and experiencing and learning from things like this is very much part of our unpredictable and colourful life journey.
Resilience is the capacity to stay flexible in our thinking, emotions and behaviours when we are stressed - any stress - however ‘small’ or ‘big’ it might appear. When our resilience leaves us in times of stress, our ability to remain flexible may decrease or vanish. It is replaced with more rigid thinking, which may lead to the following behaviours:
Emotions are harder to manage
Decisions are harder to make
Self-confidence is reduced
Social detachment is increased
Creativity is affected
Resilience coaching focuses on which parts of your resilience have been affected (these are the resilience ‘gaps’); growing your ability to fill these gaps by enabling you to feel a renewed sense of self belief and resourcefulness. The ultimate is for you to not only feel like you again and move forward, but also for you to overcome the adversity or obstacle you faced, with all the learnings in your pocket.
One thing I have found time and time again with my clients, is that they most often have the solutions themselves - we just need to work together to uncover them.
In order to get the most out of the coaching, we also need to explore any relevant context surrounding the problem, so the coaching is very much solution-focused for your very specific problem.
Some of the topics we might discuss during our resilience coaching sessions are:
The story you are telling yourself with regards to the situation you find yourself in
The new story you might then tell yourself to help you out of this situation
Where is resilience leaving you?
How you might handle the first moment of contact between you and the difficult event in a different way, so that it may upset you less
Where resilience shows up in other areas of your life
How and when you might ask for help when faced with a problem
How much do you try to understand what adversity has taught you?
These are just some topics of conversation. What we talk about together will be specific to you and your unique situation. The first step is for us to build a rapport and trust so that you may really flourish … then we will take it from there.
